Terms of use

By using Viking Finds you agree to the following. They are short on purpose.

Your contributions

• You must have the right to share what you post. Photos must be yours or shared with permission.
• Text, pins and photos you contribute are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, credited to your display name, so the map can be reused by researchers, museums and other projects.
• Submissions are reviewed. Moderators may edit, reject or remove anything that is inaccurate, off-topic, or harmful.

Conduct

• Be civil. No harassment, hate, or personal attacks.
• No spam, advertising, or automated posting.
• Respect the law on heritage sites. In most countries metal detecting on or near protected monuments is illegal and finds must be reported. Viking Finds does not condone looting and will remove content that encourages it.

Accuracy

Register data is reproduced in good faith and may contain errors or deliberate imprecision. Community pins are opinions until verified. Always check with the responsible authority before visiting or acting on a location.

Accounts

We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You may delete your account at any time.
